Which ski goggle lens category should I choose?

Category S1 lets in 43–80 % of light for flat light and snowfall, S2 (18–43 %) suits mixed conditions and S3 (8–18 %) bright sun. If you only own one pair, choose S2 or a photochromic lens.

What are photochromic goggles?

Photochromic lenses darken in bright light and lighten in flat light, so one lens covers more conditions.

Do ski goggles fit with a helmet?

Most do: check that the goggle sits flush with the helmet brim without a gap on your forehead, and that the strap fits the helmet's goggle clip.
